Musician Ameria Nambala has slammed social media users and bloggers criticizing Sheebah Karungi for quietly returning to the country.
On Saturday, Sheebah Karungi landed at Entebbe Airport after spending over five months in Canada on maternity leave. Unlike the usual act of fans welcoming their celebrities at the airport, the self-styled “Karma Queen” chose to do it quietly, with only close aides receiving her upon her return.
Social media was not aware of her surprise return until her close friend Amelia Namba posted the clip on social media.
In a TV interview, Ameria confirmed Sheebah’s return, noting that she will soon be officially addressing her fans about her next move. She also trashed allegations that Sheebah is a secretive person, and if she didn’t want anyone to know about her return, the news wouldn’t have made it on social media.
Ameria Nambala explained that Sheebah chose not to have media cover her return because she hates unnecessary attention and hype.

“Journalists have the audacity. Every person in the world has what she/he likes and how they want their things to be done. The way I know Sheebah, she is not the type of person that loves hype, praises and attention. If she wanted all this, everyone would have been at the airport. Her main interest is to give her fans music; that is the main reason she came back into the country. Not for people to bow down for her. It’s not that she was going to dance or sing at the airport. What else did they expect to see besides having village excitement” she said.
