Police in Entebbe is vowing to intensify crackdown on crime perpetrators who have made it a habit to terrorize residents in addition to causing havoc in the vicinity.  Entebbe Municipality DPC Godfrey Ninsiima who was accompanied by the Nakiwogo OC Station Kiconco Rwanks disclosed that the police has gathered enough intelligence reports indicating that there are two criminal gangs, “Swagger Attackers” and “Cockroaches” comprised of primary school going juveniles who are causing havoc in the areas of Lugonjo Nakiwogo. Kiconco revealed that the groups are being used by other notorious fellas to break into people’s houses to rob items and property that can easily be sold for quick cash.  Some of the juvenile delinquents have been arrested on several occasions and arraigned in court but have been acquitted due to lack of evidence.

To make matters worse the parents of these delinquents are lax and don’t want to discipline their children and it is widely believed that some of the parents connive with their kids to break into other people’s houses. Kiconco who was addressing the Nakiwogo residents on Friday in a community security meeting disclosed that bu-kids have now become experts at breaking into people’s houses and warned the residents to be vigilant and work with the police to smoke them out. Kiconco launched the Neighborhood Watch Campaign and vowed to crack down on idle fellas who storm bars as early as 8am and start guzzling Waragi pints like crazy in addition to chewing Mairunji and playing ‘Matatu’ and Ludo.
