
The glamour, the flamboyancy and the merry making is what defined the all white round two Singleton match play challenge as 64 golfers took to the Entebbe golf course on Saturday to book slots in round three of the Uganda Breweries sponsored singleton tournament.
The best excelling pair comprising of Tumusiime Michael and Muhereza Allan knocked out Kaddumukasa .M and Mukiibi Peter pair (7&6). Mwetemba Herbert and Kagoro Patrick pair lost to Kabasweka Peace and Kesiime. S (5&4). Irene Nakalembe and Magala Eva pair saw off Byamugisha Geoffrey and Moses Ssebugwawo pair (3&2). It was no easy feat for Kabuchu Edward and Kibaya A. Pair who won on play-offs on the first hole against hard fighting pair of Ligyalingi. J. and Mugoma. P.
Newly voted Uganda Golf Union president Innocent Kihika and his counterpart Magona Peter lost to Mubiru Charles and Mawejje. J. 5&4. Kaheru. P and Bagabo Joseph beat Balafu .C and Kisadha. T Pair (5&4). A total of 32 golfers advanced to round three which will be held on April 14, 2018 and has been dubbed the “Oldies dress code”
Stableford Subsidiary full Handicap Event Winners:
Besides the main Singleton match play challenge, a total of 149 players took part in the stableford full Handicap subsidiary event.
Ssetongo Yusuf, Sebaale Kato and Moses Mukiibi topped group A, B and C with 38, 37 and 41 points. Ssetongo Yusuf and Sebaale Kato earned themselves a weekend for two at Serena Hotel Kigo while Moses Mukiibi took home a DStv explorer Decoder.
In the ladies category, Namata Reginah and Nabukenya Diana topped Group A and B with 36 and 41 points respectively. Namata Reginah earned herself a round of Golf at Serena Hotel Kigo while Nabukenya Diana walked away with a DSTV Explorer decoder.
A total of eight golfers who were voted the all white best dressed golfers earned themselves free Singleton whiskey bottles. Celebrated Standup Comedian Salvador was on duty to lighten up the night with his endless jokes.
