The Entebbe International Airport Police CID Chief Emoly Nantalis is cursing life like hell these days ever since she was nabbed in a cocaine smuggling deal at the Airport a few weeks ago. The CID Chief was arrested a few weeks ago while she attempted to smuggle in narcotic drugs at Entebbe Airport. Our reliable sources at the Airport have disclosed that Argueta Velasgluez Luis, a Guatemalan National, passport number 27018485 arrived aboard an Ethiopian Airways flight at 0405hrs (4:05am) with a bag which contained the narcotic drugs and Nantalis who had been eagerly awaiting for his arrival at the passenger terminal arrival section sent a Police officer to pick the bag which was delivered to her office.

However immigration officers and CAA Aviation Security (AVISEC) officers had sensed the dirty deal after Police aided Argueta Luis to avoid going through the normal security checks. Immigration and AVSEC Officers later discovered that Nantalis who had received the suspicious bag, quickly instructed her junior Police officers to assist Argueta Luis to leave Uganda as soon as Possible to avoid being detected. Argueta Luis was arrested at the pre-boarding area while he was plotting to smartly sneak out of Entebbe Airport.

Aviation security (AVSEC) and other security agencies interrogated Argueta Luis and Nantalis Emoly over the dirty deal. The bag was discovered in Nantalis’s office and upon searching it, three metallic containers containing 72 pieces of Narcotic drugs were found. The narcotic drugs were immediately confiscated though it’s not yet clear were Emoly Nantalis and Argueta Luis are being detained. The suspects were charged with unlawful possession of Narcotic drugs under SD Ref 11/26/07/2017.

“The Police Professional Standards Unit (PSU) has taken over the case because they have unearthed rot and high level corruption in the Aviation Police (AVIPOL) department. The PSU team has discovered that over 58 case files dating back to last year involving drug traffickers at Entebbe Airport mysteriously went missing and it is suspected that Nantalis connived with the drug traffickers to hide the files. The files were sanctioned by the resident State Attorney after drug traffickers were arrested and the narcotic drugs seized but up to date nobody knows how the drug traffickers escaped being taken to court. As a result, the PSU team has instructed all CID officers at Entebbe Airport to record statements in addition to listing all the narcotic drug cases they have handled”, a reliable source disclosed.

“The PSU team is manning the Aviation Police stores where the narcotic drugs are kept as the investigations continue. The PSU team has also frozen Nantalis’s three different bank accounts that were receiving Shs30m per month,” the reliable source added.

Police PSU/CID Spokesperson Vincent Ssekate issued a press statement indicating that Emoly Nantalis is under arrest and is in Police Custody.

Meanwhile in a press statement issued by Vincent Ssekate the PSU/CID Spokesperson on August 31, 2017 it stated that:

PSU has embarked on a comprehensive audit of AVIPOL and the broader objective is to protect young people from illicit drugs. The quality of personnel at Aviation Police (AVIPOL) must be above ordinary and it is upon the above that PSU audit team retrieved 87 files from CID AVIPOL and no clear explanation was given of where the suspects are. This action is purely in public interest and CID Personnel at AVIPOL will be subjected to thorough vetting. Action has already been taken against D/ASP Nantalis Emoly OC CID Aviation Police is arrested and is in custody and this is a stern warning to others.
