Fourteen passengers are lucky to be alive after they survived death by whiskers when a speeding Taxi registration number UAT 200D overturned at Mpala Zone in Katabi Town Council at around 10pm. The speeding Taxi was it’s on way to Entebbe from Kampala when it overturned at Mpala Zone just before reaching Nkumba University. All the passengers including a one week baby survived but the driver and conductor disappeared into thin air and abandoned the Taxi. Police Towed the Taxi to Entebbe Police Station as investigations into what caused the accident continue.
Peter Songole one of the survivors of the accident narrated the ordeal with entebbenews.
We left New Taxi Park in Kampala at around 8:30pm, the taxi made it’s first stop over at Kawuku and second stop over at Garuga and while we were approaching Nkumba University Stage all of a sudden we had a loud bang and in the next minute the Taxi had overturned. We got out of the Taxi without any injury but some of us have lost our belongings including wallets, Identity cards and mobile phones. The driver and his conductor vanished into thin air, Peter Songole recounted his ordeal.
