


Residents in Kasenyi zone in Abaita Ababiiri off Entebbe Road are in tears after the area Boda Boda chairman identified as Michael Kalungi was knocked dead by a speeding Entebbe Express Highway construction lorry Truck on Sunday. The 35 year-old man was smashed and crushed to pieces by the speeding lorry truck that was heading to Kampala. According to eye witnesses the speeding lorry truck first rammed into two vehicles a Toyota Noah UAM 178A which was heading to Entebbe from Kampala and injured five people who were immediately rushed to Entebbe Hospital in a very critical condition. The speeding lorry truck also rammed into a Taxi UAR 807W that was also heading to Entebbe from Kampala.


According to the Taxi Driver Joel Ngobi he tried his level best to dodge the speeding lorry truck and ended up in a ditch and the passengers sustained several injuries. The careless driver identified as Job Kakooza rammed the lorry truck into a tree around Kisubi and was later rushed to Entebbe Grade B Hospital after he sustained a couple of injuries. According to eyewitnesses who rescued the driver from the truck they revealed that he was smelling booze and he had a couple Waragi sackets and cigarettes in the truck. To make matters worse he caused a fracas at Entebbe Hospital where he had been rushed for medical attention. He fell from the hospital bed, undressed himself and started causing commotion in the hospital. On being interrogated over the matter he said that his bosses have been frustrating and paying him peanuts. The Entebbe Traffic police Boss ASP Kamugisha confirmed the bloody accident and said that police is investigating the matter.
