The Democratic Party Chairman in Entebbe Municipality Senoga Mivuule has warned the Director Civil Military Cooperation (CIMIC) in the elite Special Forces Command Maj. MacDans Kamugira and Capt.Barbara Barungi over poking their noses in the electoral process ahead of Thursday’s polls. The warning comes after the duo have been accused on several occasions of using desperate youth to commit illegal acts of defacing campaign posters of Democratic Party flag bearers late in the night. The duo has also been accused of harassing and intimidating Democratic Party supporters and usurping DPC Godfrey Ninsiima’s powers.

Senoga revealed that they have reported the cases to Entebbe Police but DPC Godfrey Ninsiima hasn’t taken action.
We (Democratic Party) have reported a number of cases involving Maj. Kamugira and Capt. Barbara to the Entebbe Police station but unfortunately DPC Godfrey Ninsiima hasn’t taken action. Many of our supporters are languishing in police cells on trumped up charges and securing police bond for them, we have to seek permission from Maj. Kamugira, Senoga stated.
Senoga also sounded an alarm bell that if the Electoral Commission fails to hold a free, fair and transparent process, they (DP) will not be blamed for the violence and chaos that will erupt.
We (DP) are sounding an alarm bell that if the Electoral Commission fails to hold a free, fair and transparent process. We shall not be blamed for the violence that will erupt after the polls, Senoga stressed.
He added:
We’ve written to different Embassies and foreign observers to come and see for themselves how the Special Forces Command Soldiers (SFC) are playing partisan politics and harassing our supporters.
However the SFC Spokesperson Maj. Chris Magezi urged the Democratic Party to provide proof and evidence and stop making allegations which cannot be followed up.
Let them (Democratic Party) provide proof and evidence that Maj. Kamugira and Capt. Barbara are disrupting the electoral process in Entebbe. Let them stop making allegations that can’t be followed up, Maj. Chris Magezi stated.
On Hon. Muhammad Kawuma’s departure to the National Resistance Movement, Mivule revealed that the Democratic Party is happy that Hon. Kawuma has finally left adding that he no longer had value in the party and was just causing confusion and tearing the party apart.
He warned the NRM not to fully open up to Hon. Kawuma because he is selfish and full of intrigue.
We (DP) aren’t surprised that Hon. Kawuma has finally made his defection to the NRM official because he hasn’t been active in the Democratic Party for over four years now. We are happy that he has finally left because he is selfish and full of intrigue and the party will not be affected in anyway by his defection to the ruling party, Senoga said.
He added:
He (Hon. Kawuma) knows us and we know him well, if he dares to disorganize the electoral process he will pay heavily his family and friends inclusive.
