The Ruling National Resistance Movement party candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has warned all residents in Wakiso District to tame their raging sex libidos to avoid contracting the deadly HIV Scourge. Museveni who was addressing a campaign rally at Works play Ground in Entebbe on Wednesday said that the HIV/AIDS prevalence in Wakiso District is alarming and urged all the residents to put ‘padlocks’ on their Kandahars and whoppers or else they risk dying.
I’m shocked that the HIV prevalence in Wakiso District is high unlike in districts like Soroti and Karamoja. For every 100 people in Wakiso District at least 10 have contracted HIV/AIDS unlike in Soroti and Karamoja District where in every 100 people at least one person has HIV/AIDS, Museveni said.
He added:
Many of you waste a lot of time in worldly things which end up destroying your lives. I’m glad that my children listened to my advice and they have now grown up into health adults who know the risk of HIV/AIDS. My appeal to all of you is to live healthy and Godly lives to avoid contracting the HIV Virus. Don’t rush into sex, for those still in school first finish studies and then you can think of finding a partner.
Museveni also appealed to all the residents in Entebbe to shun sectarianism and instead focus on fighting poverty.
Tell all those who promote tribalism amongst you that they are like Satan who should be fought. All we need as Ugandans and Africans at large is development in terms of better roads and electricity because they don’t discriminate any one. When roads are constructed or electricity is brought to an area every one regardless of tribe, religion and political party affiliation benefits, Museveni stressed.
He also promised to tarmac Busega-Mpigi road which will be a six-lane road once completed other roads to be tarmacked include Kampala-Busunjju, Kampala-Bombo, Seeta-Namugongo-Wakiso and Mpigi-Nakawuka-Kisubi. He also promised to have the expansion of Entebbe International Airport completed.
Borrowing the Lusoga adage ‘Akange kakila akaife’, Museveni emphasized the need for each household to work for its own wealth explaining that (What belongs to a household, is better than what belongs to everyone). He also revealed that government will support wealth creation plans through the wanainchi funds.
Naads will now get UGX1,000 billion up from UGX200bn, the Youth Fund will get UGX234b, the same amount will go to the Women Fund while the Microfinance scheme will get UGX180 billion.
Every village will be allocated Shs 2m out of the Shs180bn to help poor people acquire loans because they will not need any form of collateral security. We have also created a fund to support the small scale groups in the informal sector, he revealed.
He also pledged to have four technical institutes built in every constituency to promote vocational skills amongst the jobless youths. Museveni concluded his campaign rally with a rallying call to Entebbe residents to vote flag bearer Rose Tumusiime adding that he will coordinate with her and solve all the wide ranging issues that the residents face.
When you vote NRM candidates you will have simplified my work because the Member of Parliament will bring all the issues to me and we in government will provide a solution. So this time round save yourselves, he stressed.
