Residents and special hire drivers of Abaita Ababiri today Wednesday woke up to shocking news after they discovered that Ssalongo Sengo Lawrence a special hire driver who was operating at the Abaita Ababiri Market stage and who had been missing since Sunday was found murdered.
According to a special hire driver who also operates at the same stage revealed that they noticed on Sunday morning that Sengo was missing and decided to call his mobile phone several times. To their surprise his mobile phone was switched off since Sunday.
“We got scared after realizing that his mobile phone was switched off. We immediately reported the matter to Abaita Police yesterday” his fellow special hire drivers revealed.
“Today we looked for him, we also reported that matter to Kanjjasi Police station who revealed that they found him murdered in Akright Kakungulu estates an affluent suburb in Namulanda along Entebbe Road” one of the special hire drivers who conducted the search told entebbenews.
“Kajjansi Police revealed that they found the deceased’s body dumped in a bush in areas of Akright Kakungulu estates his face badly wounded and his body tied ‘Kadooya’ style” one special hire driver said.
“The police gave us a letter that introduced us to Mulago Hospital and some of the special hire drivers who saw the body at the Mortuary said that the deceased’s face was smashed and couldn’t easily be recognized” one special hire driver told entebbenews.
Another special hire driver revealed that they had a brief conversation on Saturday 8.30pm. “We had a brief conversation at around 8.30pm I left him at the stage and went home” the special hire driver said.
“The deceased was hired by thugs who killed him and disappeared with the Toyota Noah Number plate UAV 941F that he was driving” the special hire drivers who had been conducting a search for the deceased concluded.
The deceased who leaves behind four young children was a resident of Mpala zone and had been working as a special hire driver for 13 years and had recently lost his wife in August.
“He has been the sole bread winner for his four children after his wife passed away in August giving birth in a hospital. He was also a part time builder at construction sites” the deceased’s brother revealed.
The deceased’s brother also revealed that the special hire vehicle he was driving didn’t belong to him. Special hire drivers revealed that this is the fifth vehicle to be stolen by thugs. The deceased will be laid to rest in Kyamulibwa Masaka district.
Some special hire drivers revealed that Kajjansi police arrested and is holding one suspect at Central Police Station as investigations are being conducted.
