
Grief and shock engulfed residents of Kiwafu West, Division ‘B’ in Entebbe Municipality after a 12 Year old kid identified as Derrick Mukisa, a primary two (P.2) pupil at Kiwafu Modern Primary School was found hanging on a rope in a bed room. Taban Stephen, the uncle to the deceased revealed that he returned home from a nearby carpentry workshop where he works at around 8.30pm on Wednesday and on opening the bedroom door, he saw the boy hanging dead on a rope.
Taban Stephen immediately notified the Land Lord Nusura Hussein who in turn notified the LC1 Chairman who liaised with OC Station Entebbe Police Station. According to Doreen Namusisi, the grandmother to the deceased disclosed that Mukisa Derrick returned home from school on Wednesday to have lunch and later returned to school. She revealed that she went to the school to inquire where the boy had kept her Shs70,000 which the boy told her that he had kept the money under the pillow. She returned and got the money and then proceeded to the landing site in Kigungu where she works.
By the time the deceased committed suicide after returning from school in the evening, no one was at home including the mum Joyce Apai.

It’s not yet clear what drove the 12 year old boy to end his life however close neighbours who spoke on condition of anonymity disclosed that the home has lots of issues and problems and that the father to the deceased poisoned himself when his wife Joyce Apai was two months pregnant with the pregnancy of the deceased.
The Entebbe Police OC CIID Zachariah Mbabazi revealed that the scene of crime officer
Joseph Ngabirano examined the body of deceased and confirmed that he had committed suicide. He said that there were no clues that the deceased had been murdered. After the examination, the body was handed over back to the family of the deceased.
