The Uganda People’s Defence Airforce (UPDAF) is mourning the untimely demise of Lt. Col. Joseph Wafula who succumbed to throat cancer on Sunday at the Victoria Medical Center in Entebbe. The late Lt. Col. Joseph Wafula had been battling throat cancer since February this year and was in and out of several hospitals.
The Late Lt. Col. Wafula was among the senior UPDAF Officers having joined the forces during Idi Amin’s regime. The Late Lt. Col. Wafula who died aged 62 years was attached to the Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) and was the Eastern region coordinator. The body of the deceased is in Bombo Military Hospital as the UPDF authorities organize the burial arrangements. He will be laid to rest in Busamba village, Busia District. The Late Lt. Col. Joseph John Wafula was a senior resident in Entebbe and resided in the Airforce quarters along Bulime Road.
