Ugandan musician Moses Ssekibogo, aged 38yrs popularly known as Moze Radio was assaulted and killed following a bar scuffle in Entebbe.
It’s now 3 yrs down the road since the passing on of singer Radio after a bar fight at a happening bar in Entebbe. The incidence happened on the 22rd January 2018 at Debar.
The incidence happened at a happening spot in the heart of the town where music star poured liquor on revelers including the bar owner George Egesa.
The police arrested several individuals including the bar owner George Egesa, murder suspect Godfrey Wamala Troy,Hassan Muwonge,Xavier Rukere and others.
The suspects were later released on police bond after making police statements and left one suspect behind bar bars who was remanded by the Entebbe court magistrate Mary Kaitesi. Wamala Godfrey Troy was remanded to Kigo prison over attempted murder for one year before hearing his case.
High court judge Jane Francis Abodo started hearing the case on September 5th 2019 with eight witnesses including Producer Washington Ebangit, Pamela Musiimire, Hassan Muwonge, two police officers and others.
Producer Washington testified that he was with Mowzey that fateful day and saw one Wamala Troy in the bar before hitting deceased.
High court pinned killer suspect Wamala Troy of being guilty of killing Moses Sekibogo aka Mowzey Radio and convicted him of manslaughter as evidenced by the post-mortem report from Dr. Samuel Karungi and Dr. Moses Byaruhanga.
Prosecution led by Joseph Kyomuhendo and Joan Keko however failed to prove malice aforethought ingredient in the murder before sentencing the killer suspect to a 12 years, 3months and 4 days imprisonment which started 31st October 2019.
The deceased’s mother Jane Kasubo broke down to tears before the high court while giving her chilling testimony since the passing on of her son.
Radio was rushed immediately to the Emmanuel Medical Centre before being referred to Nsambya and later Case Medical centre where he spent a full week under intensive care. He was buried and laid to rest at his ancestral burial grounds at Kagga village, Nakawuka off Entebbe road.
