A 48-year-old police officer at the rank of Inspector of Police, identified as Emmanuel Wilson Abura, has been given a 50-year prison term for strangling to death a 9-year-old girl. The deceased, Patience Namawejje, was a niece to Abura’s colleague, Corporal Joel Mwonda, with whom they shared residence in the Nalya Housing Estate, Namugongo Division, Kiira Municipality, Wakiso District. Parliament of Uganda  has rejected the government proposal to mainstream the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) into the Ministry of Works and Transport. The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) has responded to the flooding incident at Entebbe International Airport which occurred on Saturday, April 6, 2024.
