Onduparaka players earned a 1-0 away victory over Entebbe F.C on Wednesday.

Newly promoted Fufa Premier League club Onduparaka continued their excellent and fine form after they edged Entebbe FC 1-0 in the first leg of the Uganda Cup Semifinal match. Captain Muhammed ‘Jargasson’ Shaban netted the lone goal for visiting Arua based Onduparaka  against ten man Entebbe side that was played at the lake side Bugonga play ground in Entebbe.

Muhammed skillfully chest controlled a Gadaffi Wahabu long ball before chipping it into the back of the net in the 10th minute. Entebbe suffered a setback after Zziwa was given matching orders in the 24th minute after he fouled Muhammad Shaban.  Entebbe’s Abram Nduggwa, who had passed a late fitness test after a bout of malaria, was substituted as the first half climaxed. Referee Denis Batte awarded Onduparaka a late second half penalty after Shaban was fouled but Gadaffi Gadhino failed to put the ball into the back of the net.

Fans and Entebbe players led by captain Sunday Mukiibi reacted bitterly towards the official after they claimed he controversially awarded the penalty to Onduparaka. Shaban grabbed another golden chance to double their lead for his Onduparaka side but his shot was cleared off the goal line. The other semi final Vipers grabbed a 2-0 against Premier league winners KCCA at Nakivubo stadium with the return legs for the two matches coming on Sunday.
