
The Singleton Golf Match Play series Challenge recorded yet another success on Saturday at the Par 71 Entebbe Golf Course as eight players progressed to the fifth round. A total of 16 players teed off in the fourth round and had an excruciating round of Golf as they battled for slots in the fifth round.
Following several walk-overs in the tournament, Famous pair comprising of Kiryowa Kiwanuka (K.K) and Elly ‘Sober’ Mukasa progressed to the fifth round after they defeated Ray Kahiigi and Ibra Bagalana Pair 4/2. Moses Ssebugwawo and Emmanuel Mugabi pair gave way to Dan Kajungu and Collins Nuwagira pair who finished 4/2 victory.

Isaac Mariera and John Muchiri edged top tournament contenders Allan Muhereza and Moses Matsiko pair 3/2. The biggest shock of the day came from Jadu Patel and Anthony Agaba who punished ‘Kabalaza’ Golf pair Enock Nuwagaba and Paul Nsereko 3/2.
Kiryowa Kiwanuka and Elly ‘Sober’ Mukasa pair, Anthony Agaba and Jadu Patel pair donated their Fire Extinguisher prizes to Entebbe Club.
Following their entry into the Singleton Golf series Challenge, Pros battled for slots in the final round. Fred Wanzala, Phillip Kasozi and Deo Akope progressed to the final round after they defeated their rivals Herman Mutawe, Abby Bagalana and Vincent Byamukama 1-up after a sudden death challenge. Towering Denis Anguyo also made it to the final stage after he beat Entebbe Club Pro Dickson Lagoro 2/1 who during the course of the week was battling a bout of Malaria.

In the Subsidiary event, Fred Kasumba, Hillary Ndugutse and Mark Nsubuga topped the men’s group A, B and C with 65, 67 and 71 Nett respectively. Ritah Akot Apell and Sheila Kesiime topped the women’s group A and B with 68 and 73 Nett respectively.
A surprise guest of the day was South Sudanese Army General Gier Chuang who lit up the 19th hole thanks to his South Sudanese traditional outfit that was the center of attention and eventually earned himself a Singleton whiskey.

It was another merry making theme night at the 19th hole as Golfers donned African wear outfits and enjoyed singleton whiskey courtesy of Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL). Fast rising RnB Singer Ykee Benda crowned up the night with his popular hit songs ‘Muna Kampala’, Eva and the famous ‘Farmer’ musical hit that he sang with Sheeba Karungi.
