Sunday was another exciting day at Lido Beach as day two of the Pepsi beach soccer league resumed. Eight teams divided in two groups Hurriken and Moonsoon were inaction. The match of the day was between MUBS and stormers, MUBS’s Brian Lukooya put up a spectacular performance as he netted a total of six goals while Brian Nkubi scored a hatrick to give MUBS a resounding victory against stormers. Stormers’ Kakwaya scored a hatrick while Kigonya Mathias netted four goals. This is MUBS’s second win after beating Zaba Supermarket 4-3 on day one.
Other games that were played in the monsoon group Buwanika Bulls got their second loss after Zaba Supermarket beat them 5-1, after a 4-3 win against Real Galacticos on day one pirates lost 3-6 to YMCA. Real Galacticos’ Joninho pirlo scored a hatrick while Said Latiff and Abdu Karim each scored a brace to give them a 7-1 win against Talented FC.
Elsewhere in the Hurriken group St. Lawrence beat Nkumba select 6-5 thanks to Wamboya Mubarak and Rwenzawula Phillip braces, Kalyowa Emmanuel and Kiggundu Swalleh each netted one goal. After losing to KIU 6-8 on day one, Kayunga beat newly promoted Mutesa 1 university 4-6, thanks to Wasswa Peter, Kiiti Sulaiman and Kasule Mustafa braces.
Brazabraza lost to International University of East Africa 4-5 while KIU got their second win after they bet Dalumba 3-2. Pepsi beach soccer league resumes on Sunday 21 September.
