The 2017/2018 Entebbe Airport Stakeholders Football league got a major boost after the Protea Hotel (Entebbe Branch) Chief Manager Sharon Haris donated two trophies to the league which is now in the quarterfinal stage.
Speaking shortly after handing over the trophies to the League chairman Tom Byarugaba, Sharon Haris who is also the league patron said that she was happy to have donated the trophies because the league has proven to be an avenue for unity and networking among the staff working with different companies at Entebbe International Airport.
She said that the trophies will be awarded to the league winner and the first runners up.
On his part Tom Byarugaba the League Chairman hailed Sharon Haris for her generosity and kindness and said that the trophies will make the league more colourful in addition to adding more morale to the participating teams.
In the first round of the quarterfinals, Lake Victoria Hotel and Protea Hotel played to a 1-1 draw, Aviation Police and Das Handling also played to a 1-1 draw, CAA and UCIFA played to a goalless draw while Fresh Handling beat Airforce 3-2.
The second round of the Quarterfinals will kick off on Tuesday August 15 with Aviation Police taking Das Handling; Laico Lake Victoria Hotel will take on Protea Hotel on August 16, Fresh Handling will take on Airforce on August 17 and UCIFA will take on CAA on August 18. All matches are played at the Entebbe Airport football pitch.
