David Kamulindwa won the professional category of the 27th Kinyara Golf Open in Masindi.
After 36 holes, Kamulindwa posted 72 and 66 for a total of 138 gross to beat the crop of other professionals in the Ug.Shs 10,000,000 kitty competition.
“I am happy for my third win of the season” the soft-soften professional revealed. “The difference in the greens here could not hinder me. I am happy for the victory nonetheless” he added.
Kamulindwa’s win followed earlier victories at the Entebbe Open and Watoto tournaments.
He will take the lion’s share of the Ug.Shs 10,000,000 kitty with all the other professionals who made the cut.
Last year’s winner in the professional category, Grace Kasango finished second as Marvin Kibirige was third.
Abraham Ainamani and Canary Kabise completed the top five positions.
Meanwhile, the amateurs (gross) category was clinched by the national team captain Joseph Cwinya-ai and Meron Kyomugisha in the men and women categories respectively.
The tournament officially comes to a grand climax with action in the seniors and subsidiary golfers in action on Saturday, 15th November 2025.
There will be a grand party at the famous 19th hole with a colourful prize giving ceremony, dinner and entertainment thereafter.
Kinyara Sugar Limited sponsors this championship with the help of several insurance firms.
This is the 27th edition of the tournament since inception.
