Veteran dancehall singer Peter Miles, real name Peter Kanyike, mourns the untimely passing of his beloved mother.
On 23 May 2026, Peter Miles’ mother, Ms. Elizabeth Sserunkuuma Kanyike, 81, breathed her last after battling health challenges at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala.
The heartbreaking news was broken by the dancehall star via his social media handles, sparking a somber mood among his online family.
Following his mother’s demise, Miles shared details regarding the late’s burial arrangements, to mobilize community support, and offer a collective space for mourning.
Based on the plans, a funeral service will be held at St. Mark’s Church, Namata-Entebbe, on Tuesday, 26 May 2026, at 10:00 AM.

This will be followed by a vigil at the deceased’s home at Baita Ababiri-Kabale-Entebbe, where friends and family will converge to mourn.
Ms. Elizabeth Sserunkuuma Kanyike will subsequently be laid to rest in her final resting place, Muduuma-Walukunyu, on Wednesday, 27 May 2026 at 4:00 PM.
