As the second round of the Pepsi Beach Soccer League gets underway on Sunday January 18, 2015, Dalumba FC and Nkumba Select have boosted their squads with new signings.
League Debutants Dalumba FC signed former Sand Pirates Striker Nicholas Kamya and Zaba Supermarket Defender Jonathan Kikonyongo. The Hurriken Group Team finalized the signing of the two players on Friday evening at Lido Beach after the negotiations between several parties were successful.
Jonathan Kikonyongo a defender and Nicholas Kamya a striker will bolster Dalumba FC after having a dismal first round where they were also accused of using forged licenses and thus lost points.
“We have several experienced Players like Lwere Paul (Captain), goal Keeper Ronald Mutebi, Openjo John, Buyinza Abbey, Musoke Sam, Kisakye Dennis, Ssenyonjo Muzafulu, Ntulume Patrick, Kaweesi Robert and Muleega Martin. They will help the club advance to the quarterfinal stage” Dalumba FC Manager Kenneth Kguli told entebbenews shortly after completing the signing of Kikonyongo and Kamya.
Dalumba who face Braza Braza FC on Sunday had a one –hour training session at Lido Beach on Friday evening.
Mean while Nkumba Select Team Manager Isa Asiimwe announced the signing of new players Goal Keeper Yiga Joseph, Kiberu Elvis aka Zlatan, Agapiso Patrick and Dan Nsubuga.
Asiimwe also unveiled Moses Lukyamuzi as the head coach who has played with the club and has also played club football with Masaka Local Council, KCC, Nkumba University and Red Cross.
Lukyamuzi and Assimwe were among the 20 coaches who recently graduated with the FIFA Beach Soccer Coaching course that Uganda hosted recently.
Asiimwe also announced the departure of four players from the club including Murushi Jjuko to Tanzanian Side Simba, Deus Bukenya off to Vipers and Ddumba .S. to Lweza and Goal Keeper Meddie Kibirige off to Baza Holding.
Nkumba Select will face Interntional University of East Africa (IUEA) in the Hurriken Group.
