Munta Royal College emerged Champions of the 5th Edition of the National Beach Soccer Schools Champions that was held at Lido Beach Entebbe on Saturday. Munta defeated St Mary’s Namaliga 4-3 in penalty shootouts in the finals after a thrilling 4-all draw. Munta advanced to the finals after they defeated Nakatonya Islamic 6-2 and Taggy S.S 5-1 while St. Mary’s Namaliga defeated Nakatonya Islamic 8-2, Kings Way 8-1, Taggy S.S 4-0 and Munta 4-2.
Fufa Competitions Boss Ali Mwebe hailed all the participating teams and underscored the need to have Beach Soccer promoted in schools. The 5th Edition attracted five schools (Munta Royal College, St. Mary’s Namaliga, Kings Way, Taggy S.S, Nakatonya Islamic) that played in a round robin system.
