Bwire Latif, a 24 year old Security guard is now cursing life like hell after he was finally netted over stealing Shs28m from a petrol Station in Mukono that he was guarding. According to sources who preferred to speak on condition of anonymity revealed that early last month in April, Bwire Latif was deployed to guard a petrol Station in Mukono however between 2am and 3am in the wee hours of the night he broke into the Petrol Station Safe and fled with Shs28m cash. Since then the Security Company bosses have been hunting him down until he was nabbed on Saturday afternoon (May 18, 2019) in Entebbe Municipality, Kiwafu West, Division (B) where he was renting a two-roomed house.
It’s not yet clear how Police managed to track him down and smoke him out from the two-roomed house that he has been hiding in ever since he fled Mukono. The culprit used part of the money to buy several household items to start a new life in Entebbe. Police searched his room and found several brand new items including a Flat Screen TV set, already installed DStv, Sofa Set Chairs, mattress, Sitting room table and other house hold items. All the property that the culprit had bought were all confiscated and he will be taken to Kiira Police Station where he will be charged with aggravated Robbery in the courts of law.
Walter Opiro, a member of the Kiwafu West LC1 security Committee thanked the Uganda Police for tracking down and arresting the culprit and promised together with the LC1 Committee to hold a meeting with all Landlords so as to ensure that they (landlords) introduce all their tenants to the LC1 Chairman together with their documents including National ID, residential ID from the previous residence and their parents or next of Kin.
