
Charles Kyagaba, the ex-Member of Parliament aspirant for Gomba East County who lost in both 2011 and 2016 parliamentary elections was on Wednesday granted Shs 4m cash bail after presenting four substantial sureties in court. Each of his four sureties was granted non-cash bail worth Shs 10m and ordered to ensure that the suspect reappears in court on a set date.
The Member of Parliament Flop was granted bail by Entebbe Grade one Magistrate Mastulah Mulondo who ordered prosecution Lawyer Chris Mubangizi to fully disclose the police file to the defense
Lawyers of the crafty fella before court begin to hear the matter. The Magistrate strongly warned the accused person against ever stepping on the disputed land until court decides on the matter and in the event he steps there court would cancel his bail application and remand him further. She adjourned the matter till 19 April 2017 for mention.
Prosecution contends that on 6 September 2016 at Bubuli/Mpala zone in Katabi Town Council, Wakiso, Charles Kyagaba 44, a resident of Buziga zone, a Kampala suburb, allegedly encroached on a piece of land approximately 22 decimals belonging to a UPDF soldier Lt. Kendra Kayaga with intent to annoy him. It’s alleged that after grabbing the accuser’s land, the accused erected a house on the said land claiming
ownership.
