Police have arrested Kawempe North MP-Elect, Mohammed Ssegirinya, from Mini Price in downtown Kampala, after he attempted to lead a protest demanding for the release of NUP supporters who are being detained incommunicado.
Another NUP MP elect Kazibwe Bashir rushed to his social media platform to break the news.
“BREAKING NEWS: Hon @SsegirinyaMuham Arrested By Police #FreeMrUpdate” Kazibwe posted.
Ssegirinya has been in the spotlight since last week after it emerged that his academic documents had issues as he was sued to have his election victory overturned.
