Sadolin Mongers started the 2015/16 Season with a win against Mulago Hospital paramedics Rams at the Entebbe S.S Grounds on Saturday. Mongers beat Rams 14-12 in a controversial match that was almost called off after a melee erupted between the two sides. A brief fight ensued on the pitch after both sides accused referee Hannington Menya of poor refereeing. Daniel Laddu opened the score sheet for Mongers with a try in the 5th minute which was converted by Adrian Wasswa. In the 35th minute Mongers added another try through Andrew Olweny which was also converted by Adrian Wasswa in the 36 minute.
Rams grabbed their consolation through Emmanuel Kibirige who scored his first try in the 58th minute and converted it. In the 72nd minute Rams had a chance to grab an equalizer had Kibirige not failed to convert a try he scored.
Mongers captain John Wandichio spoke to entebbenews shortly after the match.
Though we have won, we need to polish up because our opponents came from behind and almost equalized us. We lost focus and coordination during the match and this almost cost us. Wandichio said.
