
A week after playing exceptional Golf at the Singleton round two at Entebbe Golf Club and progressing to the round of 16, on fire Wendy Angudeyo continued with her excellent form at the par 72 Kitante Golf Course on Saturday where she registered her first major tournament victory of the year. Wendy was crowned Lady Winner after she returned 43 Stable ford points. Wendy’s success earned her two return tickets to any of the three cities in South Africa namely Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban courtesy of tournament sponsor South African Airways. Wendy also walked away with an accolade and a Golf bag and she also earned herself a trip to the Kabalega Lodges courtesy of Proprietors Dr. Peter Apell and Rita Apell.
In the men’s category, Stefan Krisch was crowned overall winner after he returned a total of 41 stable ford points. Like Wendy, Stefan Krisch also received two return tickets to any of the three cities in South Africa namely Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban courtesy of tournament sponsor South African Airways.
Other Winners:
Babirye Martha, Mi Jung Kim and Ocheng Mary topped Groups A, B and C with 37, 42 and 38 stable ford Points while in the men’s category, Kiyemba. H, Ligyalingi and Higenyi. Y topped Groups A, B and C with 40 stable ford points each.
All the winners in the winners, runners up and second runners up both in the ladies and men’s category (Groups A, B and C) walked away with prizes courtesy of sponsors South African Airways, Stanbic Bank, Marsh, Uganda Breweries Limited, Crown Beverages, Pinnacle Security and others. The golfers held a moment of silence for Anne Abeja the Kitante Golf Club Lady Captain who lost her dad Mark Ongom. Over 240 players graced the tournament.

South African Airways Country manager Yogi Birigwa, South African High Commissioner to Uganda Prof. Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Solly Mollo, Dokolo district Woman Member of Parliament Cecilia Ogwal who stood in for Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadagga, FDC National Chairman Wasswa Birigwa were all in attendance.
