The newly elected Katabi Sub County LCIII Chairman Ronald Kalema is swinging his head high and starting to swell after he was officially sworn in into office on Thursday. The Democratic Party Diehard officially took oath of office at the Katabi Subcounty Headquarters after he caned and walloped his rivals including Independent Candidate and out-going Chairman Gerald Wilson aka Omwana Wa Daddy and NRM’s Richard Kiyaga in the political brain game. In his speech the Katabi Sub County out-going speaker urged his councilors to avoid petty squabbles and hen pecking like KCCA’s Jennifer Musisi and Lord Mayor Elias Lukwago. He warned his councilors to avoid benching and fighting for allowances only but instead work with the respective technocrats to ensure that the NRM Party Manifesto is fully implemented. He will be deputized by Betty Nanyombi who was elected unopposed.
Meanwhile the Entebbe Municipality Resident District Commissioner Nalongo Rose Kirabira urged the new councilors to learn the East African Anthem adding that now all East African Member States have been obliged to always sing the anthem alongside their respective National Anthems. She urged all the councilors to supervise and monitor government programs in their respective areas.
NRM Male Youth Councilor Alex Kirega was elected speaker and will be deputized by Paul Nsubuga (DP). A total of 17 councilors were sworn in with NRM and DP both having eight councilors with one independent. Other guests who graced the swearing in ceremony included Deputy Chief Administration Officer (CAO) Masokoyi Wasswa, former Busiro South MP Aspirant Stephen Sekigozi, Entebbe Municipality Mayor Kayanja Vincent DePaul, former Entebbe Municipality MP Aspirant Kakembo Michael and several Buganda Kingdom guests.
