Singer Joshua Baraka is mourning the untimely death of his father, Mr. Lawrence Okello Habalu, who breathed his last over the weekend, on 7th June 2026.
Joshua confirmed the reports via his social media platforms, where he shared preliminary funeral and burial arrangements, indicating that there will be a church Service on Monday, 8th June at Kamwokya Church of God at 3 PM, and burial will be held on Tuesday, 5th June in Kayunga, Bugelele Kitimbwa at 2 PM.
“He will be dearly missed by family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by him. We give thanks for the life, love, and memories shared. He was a man after God’s Heart,” read the death notice.
Joshua Baraka always spoke highly of his father, and in one of the resurfaced clips, he is heard describing him as the GOAT, the ‘baddest’, the nicest, the greatest father ever, and the reason why he is where he is on earth and what he is right now.
Further in the clip, Joshua was seen interviewing him and asking him how he felt about how far he had come and the success he had achieved so far.

Mr. Lawrence said he felt great and was proud of his son, who he said was making a difference in the world through his music. He celebrated his success, especially after he had voluntarily dropped out of school to pursue his music career.
