
Although the Golf Fraternity in Uganda had focused their attention on Africa’s most prestigious Golf tournament the Africa Zone VI Amateur Golf Championship that was held at the Uganda Golf Club from 14th to 18th April and where team Uganda beat eight other nations including defending champions South Africa to be crowned champions with 18.5 points, it was business as usual at Entebbe Club where 80 Golfers took part in the April castle Lite Mug of mugs tournament on Saturday.
Isaac Muriera emerged as overall winner of the tournament with 67 Nett. Peter Magona finished as Group A winner with 70 Nett, he beat Alan Muhereza on count back who finished as Runners up. Sam Byaruhanga was Group B winner with 76 Nett while Tumubweine Twinemanzi won on count back with 78 Nett to finish as Group B runners up. Nsereko Paul was Group C winner with 70 Nett while Perry Musiime won on count back with 74 Nett to finish as Group C runner up.
In the ladies category Nancy Muraya carded 70 Nett to top Group B with Diana Nabukenya finishing as runner up with 77 Nett. The Guest winner of the tournament was Moses Masiko.
