Several residents in Kasenyi zone in Katabi Town Council are cursing like hell after the IGP Kayihura failed to turn up for the security meeting that was organized on Tuesday to address the rampant murders of women and girls in the Town Council. Several residents who arrived as early as 10am in the morning for the security meeting were left disappointed with gloomy faces after Kayihura and Security Minister Gen. Henry Tumukunde didn’t show up. The bitter residents spent the whole day waiting for Kayihura to arrive but he made no show and to make matters worse the residents suffered from crying stomachs after the meeting organizers failed to provide water and food to keep their stomachs happy. The poor residents took off and abandoned the meeting after it rained cats and dogs. RDC Kirabira was forced to step in and take over the meeting after Kayihura’s whereabouts weren’t clear.
Word reaching our news desk indicates that Kayihura played a smart move because he was tipped off that Security Minister Gen. Tumukunde was ready to spoil his day and grill him in front of the residents. IGP Kayihura eventually arrived in the middle of the night and addressed a few residents who had gathered at the Garuga Stage in Kitala along Entebbe road and later drove back to Kamp
Media reports have indicated that Gen. Kayihura and Gen. Tumukunde have been at loggerheads and rarely see eye to eye.
