Entebbe Municipality Member of Parliament Muhammad Kawuma on Sunday narrowly survived being arrested after organizing an illegal political rally at the Kiwafu Playground. The area MP and staunch Democratic Party diehard organized a political rally and a football match in a campaign to save Kiwafu Play Ground after the Municipal authorities cracked a secret deal with Tycoon Karim Hirji to construct a police station with toilet facilities at the playground.
The Entebbe Police DPC Godfrey Nisiima with other top police officers raided the football ground and sealed it off to arrest the area MP and several other organizers over organizing a political rally without neither writing nor informing police in time.
The MP with a few councilors including district councilor Sadiq Mukasa were grilled for several hours over sabotaging the municipal council development plans. The area MP pinned the municipal Mayor Vincent Kayanja Depaul over cracking a secret deal with city tycoon to take over the football play ground at no cost.
