Long distance runner Gonzanga Sebuma claimed victory at the Inaugural Katabi Town Council Marathon that was organized on Sunday. Gonzanga emerged victorious in the 21km category with a timing of 1:13:09. Baron Kwesiga and Michael Sikoria finished in second and third place respectively.
Jonathan Ankakwasa won the 10km category while Julius Kabagambe finished in second place. Deus Sebirori won the 5km category while George William Kakooza finished second.
Youngsters Twaha Abdallah, Adam Twaha and Owen Mutumba were recognized for their resilience after they participated in the 5km race. They received exercise books for their resilience.
In the ladies category, Siloan Rachael Nakibugwe won the 10km race while Eidan Nuwagaba finished second. Prossy Kisakye won the 5km category.
Chief runner Mayor Vincent Kayanja DePaul who participated in the 10km race lauded all the participants and appealed to Ugandans to exercise regularly and avoid being susceptible to preventable diseases like high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity.
