Former Makerere University Business School (MUBS) goal scoring trio Baker Lukoya, Brian Nkuubi and Sulaiman Ochero inspired their new side St. Lawrence University to a 7-6 thrashing of stubborn Buwanika Bulls. They each scored twice in a match that ended in a 6 all draw in the final half. However St. Lawrence got the last smile in the extra time after Phillip Lwezawula managed to slice through a superb shot that got into the back of the net. Buwanika Bulls proved a hard nut to crack after they capitalized on Goal Keeper Kalyowa Emma, Wamboya Mubarak and Sulaiman Ochero ( scored own goal) errors at the back to notch three goals. Fred Kiiza, Richard Kafeero and Byaruhanga Rica each scored a goal a piece while Kalabi Jamada netted a brace.
St. Lawrence University coach Davis Nono bragged to entebbenews shortly after the full time whistle.
“I’m delighted about the victory though it has been a difficult match. The team has to improve at the back in the next match against Kampala City All Stars because we conceded three goals that would have been avoided. Kalyowa Emma stood in for first choice goal keeper Lwamudda Nasser who couldn’t make it for the match. His mum is admitted at Mulago Hospital. Hopefully he will be back in our next encounter with Kampala City All stars” coach Nono stated.
Brian Nkuubi, Baker Lukoya and Ochero Sulaiman crossed from MUBS to St. Lawrence University in an agreement that will see them study on full bursary unlike in MUBS where they have been on half bursary. Coach Nono revealed that MUBS Goal Keeper Kalule Mike will soon join his side after completing the all the paperwork.
