The fourth Edition of the Entebbe Holiday Football and Netball Gala rolled out last weekend on Saturday at the Nkumba Play Ground with a total of 26 teams participating in the one day tournament. Fimbo Soccer Academy where crowned champions in the U-17 football Gala category. They edged Five stars F.C 1-0 in the finals to lift the title. Elsewhere V.T Navigators beat Five Stars 5-4 on penalties to be crowned champions in the U-16 Category. V.T Navigator beat five stars on penalties after a 0-0 draw full time score.
John T. Miller F.C where crowned champions in the U-13 Category after they edged Kampala Junior League (KJL) 5-4 on penalty shoot outs after a 2 all draw full time score. In the U-10 Category Kampala Junior team (KJT) edged city stars 2-0 to be crowned champions.
In the Netball Gala Shee Five stars edged fimbo Netball Club 20-18 to be crowned champions.
Other participants included soccer stars, future stars, life stars, Kayda Sports Academy, Wachiku F.C Bulo, Nkumba Central, SOS Children’s Village Entebbe, Catalonia Soccer Academy, Mivule primary school and hosts Kisakye Primary school.
The Organizing chairman Kakooza Shafik thanked all the participating teams and called upon all other schools in Entebbe to participate in the next edition that will be held during the second term holidays.
I would like to thank all the teams that have participated in the gala. We are calling upon other schools to participate in the next edition because our aim is to nurture and promote sports talent in the young generations.
