Former Nkumba University Guild President Ronah Kemirembe is having a lot of stress and paining ulcers ever since her lover man identified as Ivan Katongole alias Jenus was arrested and put behind bars at the infamous Nalufenya Police detention centre a couple of weeks ago in connection to the rampant murders of women in Katabi Town Council.
The former Guild Boss is not a happy woman and has lost a lot of weight over her lover man who is rotting in Nalufenya Police cells after Police got intelligence info that the flamboyant business man who deals in fish and fish products at the Kasenyi Landing site in Katabi Town Council had a hand in the murder of some women.
During a community security meeting that was held on Thursday in Kasenyi, Ronah bombarded IGP Kale Kayihura and handed over a document to him after Police foiled her attempts to disrupt the meeting with a demo. Ronah together with Ivan Katongole’s supporters and her friends quietly sneaked into the meeting with placards and were plotting a demo however Police quickly foiled the Demo and warned them not to dare cause trouble for themselves.
Meanwhile, during the meeting with the Kasenyi residents, IGP Kayihura emphasized that as a security strategy, Police together with the UPDF Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) team and ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Welfare are engaging vulnerable groups susceptible to being victims and perpetrators of crime mainly Women and the youth who don’t have jobs on how to live productive lives.
Kayihura noted that both Katabi Town Council and Nansana Municipality where 19 women were killed have over the years grown into urban centers with a growing Population which has largely migrated from the villages in search for a living. Kayihura noted that some women and men who migrate from the villages to Katabi Town Council and Nansana fail to get jobs and resort prostitution and crime.
Kayihura revealed that some Jobless youth have confessed to being used by some rich men to kill women for their ritual sacrifice in order to accumulate wealth.
