The Inaugural Entebbe Municipality youth day Cup 2017 began on a high note on Saturday at the Kiwafu Play Ground with Division A and Division B tussling it out both in the Football and Netball competitions. Division (B) emerged Football Champions after they beat their Division (A) counterparts 8-7 in penalty shootouts. The match ended in a goalless draw. Both Division (A) and Division (B) assembled their top cream of stars. Division (B) walked away with a trophy and a He-Goat.
Innocent Hasashya (Entebbe FC), Ddungu Saturday (Entebbe FC), Mangeni Gospel (Entebbe F.C), Namwanja Simon (Proline F.C), Izama Brian (formerly with Busia Fisheries), Kayongo George William (Goal Keeper Entebbe F.C) featured for the Division (A) side.
Bayo Anthony (Leopards), Andama Benson (Masavu F.C), Tabu Steven (Goal Keeper), Philly Lutaaya, Okello Kevin, Kisakye Yoweri, Mande Ikesit, Abdul Hussein (Entebbe F.C). Odeke Charles (Masavu F.C) and Isma Bajope featured for Division (B) Side.
Division (A) walloped Division (B) 24 – 06 in the Netball category. Their victory earned them a trophy and a goat.
Chief Guest of the day Hon. Rose Tumusiime hailed the youth for organizing the sports tournament and promised to serve all the youth equally regardless of political party affiliations. She warned women and girls to avoid walking alone in the night so as not to fall victim for the Mysterious killers who have murdered so far seven women in Katabi Town Council. On the misappropriation of the Youth livelihood funds (YLP), Tumusiime called for thorough back ground checks on all the groups that request for the funds.
