The Lugonjo Nakiwogo LC 1 Chairperson , Paul Zikuliza is shedding crocodile tears after renting out his premises to Entebbe police. The area chairman rented his premises in the Lugonjo trading center to the police force at a cost of one million one hundred and fifty thousand shillings to use it as police station to curb down crime in the area.
The police station occupied the premises in 2006 and for the last couple years, the police force has paid for only 3years and to make matters worse the outstanding debt has not been paid. Several reminders have been made to the police to pay their chocking rent arrears but unfortunately no single penny has been remitted to that effect to settle the choking arrears.
Police have enjoyed the shelter and toilet facilities for the last 6years without making any payment and making financial losses to the land lord . However, the head of police Community liaison Department in Kampala Metropolitan, Anatori Muleterwa said police is to settle down the rent arrears and promised the land lord that he
would forward the matter to the relevant authorities.
