Residents of Katabi-Busambaga in Division A Entebbe Municipality are finally breathing a sigh of relief after Entebbe Municipal Council embarking on tarmacking the Busambaga road that has been a source of discomfort due to too much dust during the dry season and slippery, muddy and less- motorable during the rainy season.
According to Mayor Kayanja who presided over the commencement works on Busambaga Road on Tuesday revealed that the entire 2.6kms Busambaga Road will be tarmacked in two phases.
“The first phase will involve tarmacking 1.5kms and the works commenced last year and hopefully before this year ends, we hope to have finished and thereafter, we shall embark on phase two which we hope to complete next year. The tarmacking of Busambaga road will cost Shs1.1billion and the money has been sourced from Uganda Road Fund. We are glad that Katabi-Busambaga residents have welcomed the tarmacking of the road which we believe will attract more businesses to the area. Busambaga Road once completed will also have walkways, drainage facilities, Street lights and culverts.
