
Government through the Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) has agreed to roll out USD 10,000 approximately UShs36m to the Entebbe Markets Umbrella Organization (EMUO) to enable the Sacco have more operating capital. The USD 10,000 grant was revealed by the State Minister for Youth Affairs Hon. Nakiwala Kiyingi during EMUO’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) that was held on Wednesday. Minister Nakiwala Kiyingi revealed that the grant will among others be used for sensitizing and training Sacco members in different entrepreneurial skills.
Minister Kiyingi hailed the Sacco Members and Security Minister Gen. Henry Tumukunde who delivered the Shs20m capital to start the Sacco. She disclosed that the youth today have degenerated in morals and no longer respect their superiors. She called on parents to play their roles and groom their kids into responsible citizens.

Meanwhile the Entebbe Municipality Member of Parliament Hon. Rose Tumusiime urged the group members to avoid infighting and shun vices that can destroy the Sacco. Hon. Tumusiime said that it is high time government reviewed the Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) program in urban areas including Entebbe Municipality because very few people have benefited from the government program. The Sacco Chairman Abdul Majid Kasamba decried the poor saving culture among the group members.
