The 2015 Entebbe Ladies Open Golf Tournament swung into action on Friday with 21 Lady Golfers descending on the par 71 Entebbe Golf Course. Playing Golf Hand Cap 05 Irene Nakalembe returned 74 Gross to lead day one.
“The course was dry but I was driving well which was my biggest strength. I had a calm game with good playing partners Eva Magala and Aggie Konde” Nakalembe stated.
“I have always had a very bad start unlike today. I plan to remain calm tomorrow on the final day of the event. I hope I will get the same scores or even better ones” she added.
On the front nine Irene Nakalembe hit three bogeys and one birdie while on the back nine she hit two birdies on holes 10 and 18 and two bogeys to finish top on day one. Flavia Namakula and defending Champion Monica Ntege tied at 79 gross. Action resumes tomorrow with men teeing off in the subsidiary event.
