Uganda Premier League: Entebbe F.C 0-1 KCC
It was a historic match in the sense that Entebbe Football Club was marking their maiden appearance of the Uganda Premier League at the Bugonga Stadium in Entebbe.
The final result then left the players, coaching staff and the passionate fans who came from near and far heartbroken as the reigning league champions, Kampala City Council F.C won the game 0-1. The lone strike on the day came off the feet of KCC’s captain Tom Matsiko’s penalty a minute to the half time recess. Matsiko was later substituted by Mucureezi Paul while Entebbe F.C’s Mubiru Hussein was substituted after sustaining an injury.
The penalty resulted after defender Farouk Katongole brought down
Matisko himself in the penalty box.
