The quarterfinals of the Entebbe Airport stakeholders’ league resumed on Thursday at the Entebbe Airport football pitch with Fresh Handling, a fresh cuttings and flower handling company taking on bitter rivals Uganda Peoples Defence Airforce (UPDAF) in a repeat of the 2016 finals that saw Fresh Handling emerge champions.

Lumonyo Muhammad put Airforce ahead in the 10th minute after he netted a superb goal however Jonah Rothomio grabbed an equalizer for fresh handling in the 17th minute. Ian Tugume made it 2-1 for Airforce in the 27th minute but Innocent Hasasha proved a vital selection for his Fresh Handling side after he made it 2-2 thanks to his wonderful equalizer in the 28th minute. Innocent Hasasha had his third goal cancelled for being offside. Wasswa Sadiq capitalized on Airforce’s porous defence and netted a third goal for his fresh handling side.

UPDAF Head Coach Amir Kyambadde noted his side’s weaknesses and promised to rectify the errors in the next encounter.

“I’m not surprised with the result though we played well and managed to score goals.  The defence was totally weak and that’s why Fresh Handling managed to equalize and score the third goal. Many of my first team defenders haven’t been able to turn up due to work related engagements but I’m confident they will be available for the return leg scheduled for August 17, 2017”, Amir Kyambadde told entebbenews.

Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) will take on Cargo Clearing team (UCIFA) on Friday.

Meanwhile results from the previous quarterfinal matches; Lake Victoria Hotel was held to a 1-1 draw with rivals Protea, Aviation Police and Das Handling also played to a 1-1 draw.
