
The Entebbe Municipality Division ‘B’ Kiwafu Central LC3 Councilor Bawonga Kasawuli has improved his CV after he was elected the Entebbe Taxi/Cabs operators Chairman on Friday. The Democratic Party man floored the incumbent chairman Ronald Mugerere with a difference of 16 to 04 votes in the elections that were held in Children’s Park.
He pledged to unite all the Taxicab operators in Entebbe and appealed to his cab drivers to avoid infighting and instead focus on expanding the association like the Airport Taxi. He vowed to crack down on criminals who masquerade as Taxicab drivers with motives of robbing and killing the passengers.
He also promised to get an office for the 24 member association. The Entebbe Taxicab drivers are based at Victoria Mall and Central Market.
The Entebbe Police Liaison officer Johnson Tenywa who also presided over the elections urged the Taxicab drivers to respect one another and the Job. Tenywa appealed to the Taxicab drivers to utilize the offices of RDC Kirabira, DPC Ninsiima, DISO and the Police Community Liaison office for guidance and advice.

Others who were elected to the executive committee include Dizaara Ibanda (Vice Chairman), Mayinja Ronald Kato (Secretary), Musoke Ignatius (Treasurer), Muwada Shaban (Finance), Ssekulima Baker (Publicity), Henry Buluba (Defence) and Ronald Senfuma (Hygiene). The newly elected executive committee will serve two year term in office.
