Following MP Rose Tumusiime’s successful launch of five public stand pipes in Katabi Busambaga on Saturday intended to support the community access safe clean drinking water, yet to be identified goons camouflaged in the night and broke all the taps that are located in different zones in Katabi Busambaga.
The five public stand pipes were successfully lobbied from the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) Entebbe Branch by Hon. Rose Tumusiime with a sole aim of helping residents in Katabi Busambaga access safe and clean drinking water at a cost of Shs100 per 20 liter jerrycan. However the goons sneaked in the night and broke off all the taps before disappearing into thin air. Sources close to MP Tumusiime have disclosed that the goons felt Jealousy “nugu” because MP Tumusiime successfully lobbied for the water extension project.
Sources close to MP Tumusiime are pointing fingers at Democratic Party (DP) members for frustrating and sabotaging the community water extension project.
David Nkagabwa, the NRM Party leader in Katabi Busambaga pointed fingers at a one Dembe Joseph the Democratic Party Aspiring LC1 Chairman whom he claimed was against the project. Nkagabwa claimed that Dembe Joseph fought tooth and nail to block the launch of the stand water pipes.
Meanwhile MP Tumusiime condemned the cowardly and selfish act and vowed to install new taps as soon as possible. The Katabi Busambaga security look-out teams have been informed over the matter and will safeguard the new taps once they are installed.
