Singer Diana Nalubega has spoken out on the hardships she underwent as a single mother raising her daughter alone, emphasizing that she was not rushing to give birth again.
She has one child, a daughter, whom she welcomed into her life before 18 and while still in school. In one of her interviews, she confessed that she was in her senior four when she got impregnated by a man a bit older than her, and she sat for her leaving exams while pregnant.
After running away from home, she stayed with her baby daddy until the child turned two years old, before he abandoned all his fatherly responsibilities.
Diana noted she raised the child entirely on her own, and with all the trauma she went through, she couldn’t get herself to have a second child immediately.
Speaking in a TV interview, Diana stressed that she stayed alone with her child without the help of her boyfriend, but only her mother and siblings, who held her through, and she went through the difficult phase as a single mother.

“Giving birth is something you need to be cautious about. The fact that I gave birth at such a young age, I experienced trauma/ shock. I went through shock because at that age, I gave birth to a child and stayed alone with her. I raised her on my own; of course my mother and siblings supported me but there is a moment you need to go through alone and carry everything on your own. After all this, you do not rush into giving birth again,” she said.
