Deco Mutebi Excels @ Round Two Singleton Series Golf Tourney.

Uganda National Team Player Herman ‘Deco’ Mutebi was the Golfer of the day at the round two of the Uganda Breweries Sponsored Singleton whiskey series Golf Tournament that was held at the par 71 Entebbe Golf Course. Playing Golf Handicap 00 Deco Mutebi returned 72 Nett to emerge as overall winner of the tournament. Deco Mutebi beat Ibra Bagalana on count back who settled for first runners up slot. A jovial Deco walked away with a trophy and a bottle of Singleton whiskey.

John Muchiiri topped Group B with 67 Nett. His success earned him a weekend for two at Sharps Island Wilderness Lodge in Lake Bunyonyi courtesy of Wilderness Lodges of Uganda. ‘Kabalaza’s’ Enock Nuwagaba beat Alfred Kabuchu on Count back to emerge Group C winner with 70 Nett. Enock Nuwagaba scooped a Serena Voucher.

Playing Golf Handicap 35 Ritah Akot emerged winner in the Ladies Category with 66 Nett. She earned a Serena Voucher for her success.

Round 3 will be played on March 11, 2017

Round 4 will be held on April 15, 2017,

Round 5 will be held on May 13, 2017

 

Some of the players who proceeded to the round of 16 scheduled to be held on March 11, 2017 include Alan Muhereza and Moses Matsiko pair who beat Paul Ojambo and Tony Katamba 5/4, John Muchiri paired up with Isaac Mariera to thump Michael Nonne and Michael Odur pair 5/4. Irene Nakalembe and Maureen Okura saw off Joseph Salani and Byagaba pair 4/3, Ali Juuko and Michael Tumusiime pair lost to Moses Ssebugwawo and Emmanuel Mugabi pair 1-up. Jadu Patel and Anthony Agaba cruised past Byenkya Maxi and Gloria Mbaguta pair 6/4, Enock Nuwagaba paired up with his ‘Kabalaza’ team mate Paul Nsereko to beat Omondi and Nyaga Ngari pair 3/2.

Kiryowa Kiwanuka and Elly Mukasa comfortably joined the round of 16 with a walk over after Robert Powell and Greg Patterson pair didn’t show up. David Balaka and Godfrey Nkambwe also joined the round of 16 with a walk over after Karisa Katongole and Ivan Setimba did not show up.

Golfers concluded the day with a Singleton whiskey drink up showdown at the 19th hole in addition to enjoying a theme night musical hits of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s oldies.
