Over 15 notorious criminals who have been terrorizing residents in Entebbe and Katabi Town Council were on Friday smoked out in their hideouts and arrested in a Police operation in Katabi zones. The OC Station Katabi Police Post Arnold Arinaitwe commanded the operation and crackdown of criminal elements that have been terrorizing Entebbe residents and giving them sleepless nights.
The arrested criminals confessed to being hardcore criminals and bandits and testified that they have been stealing phones, shoes, money, waylaying women in dark corners with knives and snatching their hand bags.
Some of the arrested criminals whose names have been concealed because they have turned into Police informers disclosed that they were recruited by a one “Chemical” a skater based in Kampala into the criminal gangs and hangs out at Anderita Beach on Weekends with his deadly squad which includes Wolf, Cheater, Kivumbi, Nato, Bad seed and Young blood.
“We ended up joining “Chemical” and his squad because we admired their lifestyle and wanted to be like them. They begun by teaching us how to skate and eventually taught us how to rob. Whatever we stole we delivered to our “bosses” who paid us. However “Chemical” is hard to reach because he is guarded”, the reformed teenage criminals who are also secondary school students at various schools in Entebbe disclosed.
Arnold Arinaitwe, the Katabi OC Station disclosed that the operation was conducted in Katabi Kano-Nakali, Busambaga, Muuno, tanda, Kitubuulu and Abaita Ababiiri zones.
“We arrested 15 wrong elements who have been terrorizing residents in Katabi zones. The operation was intelligence led through the newly formed Village Security look-out teams who availed us with information on the wrong elements and their hideouts. I appeal to the residents to feel free with the Police and avail us with information. Majority of the criminals are juveniles and teenagers who have been neglected by their parents”, Arinaitwe disclosed.
The arrested criminals were handed over to the Entebbe police Crime Intelligence team for further interrogation and investigation.
Meanwhile the Kabaale LC3 Councilor Amina Marsal has vowed to organize village meetings with parents to hear from their Children who confessed to engaging in crime adding that many parents accuse Police of wrongfully arresting their kids.

B13 –headed by Hassan Kamufyu and operates in Abaita Ababiiri,
Kimese – headed by Cheater and operates in Kitala S.S,
Kikapa – headed by bad seed and also operates in Kitala S.S,
Swagger Attackers – operates in Kitooro,
Gumu Biiri – headed by young blood.
Other criminal gangs include Mukono 11, challenger and Kiface.
