Senior Presidential Advisor and Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit, Col. Edith Nakalema, has confirmed the longstanding rumor that Stella Nantumbwe’s marriage to her husband, Saidi Bukenya, ended.
In a video trending on social media, Col. Edith revealed that the former beauty queen filed for divorce from her husband and, instead of walking away peacefully, she chose to run away with the man’s household items.
Stellah Nantumbwe, former Miss Uganda, recently married Saidi Bukenya in a colorful wedding in August last year following a private traditional ceremony.
The colourful ceremony was followed by speculation that the once-vibrant couple had parted ways for reasons best known to them.
This was confirmed by Col. Nakalema over the weekend, who was speaking from a point of disappointment, outed Stella’s mother, accusing her of conniving with her daughter to steal from Bukenya. Giving a couple of Bible verses, she advised the pair to return the property to a man whom she said was grieving.

“Nantumbwe, Miss Uganda, God gave you fame and respect but the devil wants to steal it away from you by forcing you to run away with the man’s property. This man loved you, you loved him and even introduced him to your parents. What is so shameful was that even your mother connived with you to take away the man’s things. I pray for you so that God can forgive you. You will not enjoy the man’s things yet he is out there crying, complaining and in pain together with his family. I do not know whether you have children together but marriage is for the entire family not just two people. You will not enjoy life this way when you have the man’s property. May God help you to repent and return the man’s things. If God wills you will go back to your home but if you do not want, just give the man his things back. I ask the mother not to leave this world knowing you went to your in-laws place and carried all his things,” she said.
