The Entebbe Kitooro Taxi Park polls that were scheduled to be held on Monday ended in chaos, violence and bloodshed after two rivals Taxi associations the Kampala Operators Taxi Stages Association (KOTSA) led by Yasin Sematimba busted and foiled a plot by the Kampala New Taxi Leadership committee chaired by Abdallah Kitata and Mustafa Mayambala to hijack and forcefully take over the Entebbe Stages Conductors And Drivers Association (ESCADA) leadership. The KOTSA and ESCADA leadership stormed Leisure Park where the polls were to be conducted from and immediately rounded up Kitata and Mayambala’s boys. Police led by Deputy RPC Kampala Metropolitan South SP Geoffrey Kaheebwa and the Entebbe DPC Godfrey Ninsiima raided Leisure Park and fired several tear gas canisters in the skies to disperse supporters from the two rival camps who had started fighting and clashing bitterly.
The situation turned chaotic and bloody after KOTSA and ESCADA Camp pulped Kitata and Mayambala’s boys who had been hired to organize the illegal polls and arbitrarily take over the ESCADA leadership.
The ESCADA Treasurer Abiola Walakira pinned down Kitata Abdallah are well known Boda Boda and NRM Chairman Rubaga Division over trying to organize illegal elections with the knowledge of several police Authorities including the IGP Kale Kayihura. Abiola also pinned down Kitata and Mustafa over masquerading as Taxi operators and appealed to IGP Kale Kayihura to distance himself from the two fellows because they aren’t Taxi operators. The two foxy fellas weren’t available on the scene after they were tipped that would be thumped. Majority of the Taxi Drivers who are over 2000 in Entebbe are backing KOTSA and ESCADA and revealed that Kitata and Mayambala only have a clique of 12 people who are disorganizing the Entebbe Taxi Park affairs. Police resolved to call off the illegal polls until when all the differences have been ironed out.
