Archilles Lukyamuzi, the Entebbe Sports Committee Chairperson hailed all the 30 schools that turned up for the football and netball champions and thanked all the head teachers in their respective schools for funding the ball games.
I’m very happy that out of the 45 schools we planned for, 30 schools managed to turn up for the ball games and I’m grateful that government schools have dominated this year’s edition. I would like to thank all the head teachers for funding the ball games and I’m confident that we will compete fiercely at the National Ball games slated for August 24, 2017 in Luweero District. We have black listed two schools namely EWA and Entebbe Modern primary School after they fielded ‘mercenaries’/ ‘Bacuba’ in the games. We shall take appropriate disciplinary measures against the two schools, Lukyamuzi Archilles stated.
Entebbe Municipality Deputy Mayor Richard Ssekyondo thanked the head teachers, sports committee and the participants for gracing the ball games and called on schools to desist from using ‘Bacuba’ in the games. Ssekyondo backed the Sports Committee to discipline EWA and Entebbe Modern for the malpractice adding that there should be fairness and transparency in the games.
